The Best Pizza Places In Olympia

Is there anything better than a fresh-out-of-the-oven pizza? The perfectly seasoned crust, flavorful sauce, melty cheese, and endless topping options make pizza one of the most adaptable meals of all time. A good pizza joint is filled with artists, working tirelessly to come up with unique flavors and dining experiences, and Thurston County provides a pizza place for every palette. So, what are the best pizza places in the Olympia area?

We turned to Sue Smith, an agent who has been a part of the Olympia community since the early 80’s. She and her husband of over 30 years raised their three children here and are big advocates of the community and helping through volunteering. Sue began her property management career as an apartment complex manager and continued in the field as a rental property manager, eventually transitioning to become an agent. With over seven years in the field, customer satisfaction is Sue’s number one priority, and she is committed to managing homes and providing the ultimate customer experience.

Sue and her family have watched as the community has grown and enjoyed the amazing cultural cuisine Thurston County has built up over the years. She specifically loves the local pizza places that have grown with the community.

“I love supporting locally-owned places,” she says. “And our local pizza is really unique.”

So, what pizza joints does Sue recommend?

Brewery City Pizza

The first Brewery City Pizza restaurant was founded in Tumwater in 1982 just south of the old Olympia Brewing Company. Along with restaurants in West Olympia and Lacey, Brewery City has three convenient locations to serve the local pizza eater. Their great food and service have allowed Brewery City Pizza to be voted the “Best Pizza in the South Sound” for many years.

The menu at Brewery City Pizza is filled with unique specialty pizzas like the meat-heavy Brewmaster, and the boldly flavored Chicken Cordon Bleu. If you’re looking for more distinctive options, the Maui Wowie provides a twist on traditional Hawaiian-style pizza.

Even its lighter fare is impressive.

“The sauces and the salads are amazing,” Sue says. “They are loaded with flavor and the salads are perfectly made.”

Casa-Mia-THUMBNAIL

Casa Mia

In 1952, the first Casa Mia Restaurant was opened in Hoquiam, Washington by Phil Bellofatto, an Italian American that grew up in an apartment above one of the original Pizzerias in New York. To this day, the menu at Casa Mia is centered on Phil’s recipes, with nearly everything still made the old-fashioned way.

The restaurant has now become a Thurston County stalwart, with locations in Lacey, Yelm, and on Plum Street in Olympia. They have become known for their irreplaceable pizzas that match the flavor of the community they serve.

“The potato pizza is a great pizza for vegetarians,” Sue says. “My daughter is a vegetarian and it’s great that she has options too.”

Everything from cashews to truffle oil and fig almond pesto adorns the pizzas on Casa Mia’s menu, and salads like their spicy chicken Caesar provide a heavenly sidekick to every meal.

Vics-Pizzeria-THUMBNAIL

Vic’s Pizzeria

There is nothing boring about Vic’s Pizzeria.

Vic’s Pizzeria is locally owned and operated since 1999. Their success is all due to hard-working staff, excellent food quality, and fabulous customers. They use only the finest ingredients in all their foods.

Vic’s has locations on the Westside of Olympia and the Wildwood area in the South Capitol neighborhood. The quirky pizzeria sells bold pizzas by the slice or the whole pie. Their menu is filled with one-of-a-kind options that are sure to please everyone.

“Vic’s is totally unique,” Sue says. “There is nothing run-of-the-mill about it at all.”

With options like The Greener, topped with fresh spinach, mushrooms, red bell peppers, red onion, and roasted garlic, or the Lovely Rita, topped with sweet potato, sun-dried tomatoes, cashews, and a basil pesto drizzle, Vic’s stands out as a fiercely independent pizza joint.
