Showing Support

Change has been inevitable during the COVID-19 Pandemic especially for small businesses. In Thurston county we are lucky to have many local small businesses and we believe it is important to offer our support to them during this time. Fortunately, our community is very strong and prides itself on supporting one another.

Many small businesses have struggled in several ways, one of the main reasons being, most of them rely on having their shops and restaurants at full capacity. With social distancing, stay at home orders, and the constant changes in our community, the future is unpredictable. As consumers, we can make decisions that can help support our local small businesses while the economic impact of COVID-19 continues to shift. Now that small businesses are taking the precautionary steps to re-open it is important that we do our part to help them. There are many ways that you can safely help the community.

One way you can help small businesses is by letting people know through word of mouth and social media which of your favorite places are starting to re-open. Business owners might not have the resources to keep their information on the internet updated and still could be marked as closed online. Another way you can show your support is by ordering take out or delivery from your favorite local restaurant! A rewarding and easy way to help as you treat yourself to dinner at the same time!

To help your local businesses even more you can share your experience with others. Share a picture or comment online through social media to help businesses attract new customers and remind people how great our local businesses are. Also, leaving them positive reviews on Google or Yelp is always appreciated!

Although it has been a time of change and uncertainty, it is comforting knowing that our community strives to support one another. Whether you are just saying a simple thank you or using the services of local businesses, every little gesture counts. Safety is always top priority so lead by example and support your favorite businesses safely!
