Meet Megan Zahringer: Real Estate Agent with a Passion
When it comes to helping clients find or sell their dream home in the South Sound, Megan Zahringer brings not only her expertise in real estate, but also a deep personal connection to the community. From her love of local Olympia neighborhoods to her dedication to supporting military families, Megan's journey into real estate is both inspiring and grounded in her genuine care for the people she works with.
From HGTV Inspiration to Real Estate Success
Megan’s passion for real estate began at an early age, sparked by watching HGTV and dreaming about being involved in helping people buy and sell their homes. As her career evolved, her interest in real estate only grew. Having worked as a bank manager, she gained valuable experience with mortgages and home equity lines of credit, further piquing her interest. After taking time off to raise her children, Megan pursued her real estate license, navigating the challenges of starting a career during the COVID-19 pandemic. She credits her experience and customer focused service to having worked alongside one of the most tenured agents here at Olympic SIR, together achieving Best of South Sound Real Estate Team, several years in a row.
Megan’s background is uniquely tied to military families, which holds special meaning to her. With her husband being a former Marine, her brother actively serving in the Army, and a family legacy in the Air Force, she is deeply passionate about supporting military families through her real estate practice and in the community.
Favorite Olympia Neighborhoods: Charm, Community, and Beach Access
Megan's deep knowledge of Olympia is reflected in her love for its diverse neighborhoods. Three areas stand out as her favorites. Capitol Campus, with its historic homes and old Olympia charm, holds a special place in her heart, especially in the fall when the streets are perfect for leisurely walks and active with families participating in fall fun. She also adores Beachcrest, a unique waterfront neighborhood with private beach access that feels remote yet remains close to the city. This neighborhood caters to military families and offers a wide range of homes, from starter houses to expansive estates. Lastly, Megan highlights Jubilee, another neighborhood with private beach access and a great club house full of activities and events, but that specifically caters to older adults—a community she appreciates for its focus on this demographic whom she loves to connect with.
Family, Sports, and Exploring the PNW
Outside of her career, Megan is a devoted mother of two children, and much of her free time revolves around their sports and family activities. Whether it’s attending Seahawks and Mariners games or exploring the hiking trails of the Pacific Northwest, Megan and her family love staying active. They frequently visit favorite local travel spots like Coeur d’Alene, Long Beach (where she swears by the clam chowder and fish tacos), and Leavenworth, where they visit every New Years Eve as a family tradition.
Megan’s love for the region also shines through in her favorite local spots. One of her top spots is Sequalitchew Creek in Dupont, a family-friendly hike that leads to a breathtaking beach with vast views of all the Pacific Northwest has to offer. She also enjoys visiting the Capitol Building in Olympia to walk its campus and tour the buildings, a stunning piece of architecture that never fails to make her feel connected to something significant.
Supporting Local Causes
In addition to her real estate career, Megan is dedicated to giving back to her community. She serves on the board of All Kids Win, a nonprofit focused on supporting youth in Thurston County, ensuring kids have access to meals over weekends and school breaks and providing scholarships to graduating seniors. She volunteers her time to her children’s schools, whether it be helping with the booster club or chaperoning field trips. Megan is also actively involved in the local chamber of commerce and donates regularly to a local animal shelter. With three dogs and two cats of her own, supporting animal welfare is close to her heart.
A Client-Centered Approach
For Megan, real estate is more than a career—it’s a chance to be part of a family’s story. She finds great joy in representing buyers, from first-time homebuyers to those selling their homes to retire or move closer to family.
Megan’s approach to real estate is all about providing a white-glove service. She goes above and beyond for her clients, working with a trusted network of lenders and vendors to ensure every step of the transaction is smooth and stress-free. "I’m always available for my clients," Megan says, emphasizing the importance of building meaningful relationships. For her, it’s not just about business; it’s personal. Many of her clients become lifelong friends, making her work all the more rewarding. "It’s such an honor when a family trusts you to help them with such an important part of their lives," she says.
