Meet Carlee Hjelm, a Washington State University graduate who was born and raised in Olympia Washington. After obtaining her degree, she moved to Seattle where she worked at First American Title and Escrow for a few years before becoming an Alaska Airlines Flight Attendant. Her grandparents owned and operated Olympia Avionics, so aviation has always been a passion of Carlee’s since she was a child. Having the opportunity to work as a flight attendant was a dream come true. Carlee spent about 4 years serving as a flight attendant when she finally retired her wings in pursuit of settling down and growing roots in Olympia where she grew up. She’s worked as a realtor for Greene Realty Group ever since and believes that serving in the air has helped her better serve those purchasing and selling homes because she has respect for the many different circumstances that come with buying and selling.

“There’s happy and sad reasons why people fly, and there’s happy and sad reasons why people buy and sell homes. It’s business, but I see people in front of me so serving in the air and on the ground, I’m there to make someone’s experience as comfortable as possible. I think that’s where it’s pretty similar.”

Carlee has an innate sense to serve others and is driven by this passion in real estate. She strives to make relationships that last, and finds joy in friendship. Invitations to clients’ baby showers, birthdays, and competing on a client’s softball team might not seem very important for some, but for Carlee it’s the reason she’s in real estate.

“Because this industry is relationship based, it feeds me a lot. I want to continue to be apart of my clients lives. Usually when I meet somebody, my goal is that we are connected for life. That’s my end sight. It’s not about the money, that’s incidental.”

You’ll probably see Carlee at the Olympia Airport baseball fields or paddle boarding with her family on the Puget Sound. She’s always active in the community and would love to meet you so please say hi!
