#GRGAgentProfile

Meet Ben Gaubert. Ben may in fact be the most interesting man in Olympia and can certainly compete for the most interesting real estate agent in Thurston County. Born in the Bay Area of California, Ben’s father was a contractor which meant that Ben moved around to many different homes. After graduating from High School Ben attended The University of Oregon.

Part way through college, Ben decided he needed to take a semester off to work with AmeriCorps in Alaska. That 4 months proved to be the most difficult months of Ben’s life. Out in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness, hiking 10, to 20 miles a day, blazing new trails, not knowing anyone he was with. It was this time however that Ben reached a point in his life that would come to define his mentality. He discovered that he didn’t want to live a life driven by money, or comfort, but instead, he wanted a life that was truly lived, experiencing everything he possibly can. This prompted him to “run away” after he graduated. Traveling and living in China, teaching English in Shanghai for a few months. Riding through Vietnam on a motorcycle he bought from a local. Traveling and living in Australia selling cheese as a cheese monger, finally making his way to Washington. Ben then met the love of his life scooping ice cream at Molly Moons ice cream shop in Seattle. Together they moved to Olympia where he met the Hjelm family who turned to Jim who then offered him a job as a real estate agent with Greene Realty Group.

“Looking back, the most challenging periods of my life, were also periods where I experienced the most growth. Nothing comes easy, you have to work hard and own everything in life. Nothing that comes easy is ever worth it.”

Ben’s attitude and outlook on life make him excellent at anything he does, especially in real estate. He’s always genuine, and he believes that buying or selling homes is easier at a more personable level. His positive personality shines through when you speak with him, and it creates comfort that you might find in a friend.

“If I can make other people smile, it helps me smile and that’s a win-win.”

When he’s not working with a client, you can find Ben hiking, fishing, and enjoying the pacific northwest for everything it has to offer. Make him take you out to lunch at the Chelsea Farms Oyster Bar, Ben’s passion for fresh shellfish is incredible.

Oysters, fishing, hiking, anything “PNW” Ben is your go to guy. Who knows you might even want to buy or sell a house and maybe you’re looking for a friend to help you out. Ben’s personable character is contagious. Give him a call or shoot him an email! 360.485.3711, ben@timlynchhomes.com
