5 Ways to Observe Veteran’s Day This Year

#GRGCommunity

Here at Greene Realty Group we are happy to honor all those who have served our country this Veteran’s Day everyone! I’m sure that most of you plan on enjoying your extra day off with some relaxing around the house, time with family, or maybe even some yard work if the weather holds. While all of those are great ways to spend your added day off, we also wanted to present some ideas of how you could incorporate all the veterans that have served into your day.

1) Attend a Veteran’s Day event

Attending an event around your community is a great way to get out and physically show your support to local veterans in your area. There are plenty of opportunities around the Thurston County area today, and you can find them right here.

2) Donate to a Charitable Cause

There are plenty of charities out there that support veterans and soldiers alike that offer a great way to take a few minutes out of your day and make a difference. A few charities that we especially support are The Wounded Warrior Project and The United Service Organization.

3) Write to a Service Member

Sometimes, something as simple as a little message can make a huge difference in a service member’s day, week or even life. It doesn’t take long and doesn’t cost a thing to send a message that can really have an impact, and you can send that message here.

4) Call a Veteran That You Know

Just about everyone knows someone who served or still serves in the military. Sometimes just a quick call to touch back and say thank you those people in your life can really make that person feel appreciated.

5) Learn More About Veterans

There are some amazing resources out there that tell a veteran’s story better than you could ever imagine. The Library of Congress has the memories of more than 3000 veterans with written, audio and video recounts of their memories, which you can find right here.

We here at Greene Realty Group would also like to personally thank our own agents Tim Lynch, Missy Watts and Larry Peterson for their honorable service to our country. They bring a unique perspective to Greene Realty based on their past experiences that can only be gained from years of commitment. I encourage everyone out there to please take some time out of your weekend to remember all those who served to help make this great country so great.
